The Saudi cabinet welcomed on Tuesday the stances declared at the Arab Summit in Tunis on various political, security, economic and cultural challenges confronting the Arab world. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in al-Khobar. He briefed the ministers on the positive results of the summit that was held over the weekend. He held talks in the Tunisian capital with several Arab leaders and the United Nations Secretary-General. The cabinet underlined the speech the monarch delivered at the summit. In it, he stressed the importance of the Palestinian cause, saying it was at the top of the Kingdom’s concerns. It will remain so until the Palestinian people obtain all of their legitimate rights. He also voiced the Kingdom’s absolute rejection of any measures that would undermine Syria’s sovereignty of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. He stressed the need to reach a political solution to Syria’s crisis that would ensure the country’s unity and sovereignty. The cabinet lauded the outcomes of the meeting, held in Tunisia, by the Arab Ministerial Quartet Committee charged with following up on the crisis with Iran and ways of addressing its interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries. Moreover, the ministers highlighted King Salman’s visit to the Eastern Region, which reflects his keenness on the people throughout the Kingdom. They also noted Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the Global Aviation Summit 2019 and the signing of various aviation services agreements between the Kingdom and several countries.
