The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, represented by the Child Protection Unit of the Joint Forces Command, handed over in Riyadh on Tuesday seven children to the representative of the Yemeni legitimate government. The children were deceived by the Iran-backed Houthi militias and lured into joining their ranks and fight on the battlefronts at the Kingdom’s borders, reported the Saudi Press Agency. Each child received a sum of money as a gift from the Joint Forces Command of the Operation Renewal of Hope, in addition to gifts from Sharurah Force Command. The children were transport by bus to Marib, Yemen. So far, 120 children have been returned to their families through the efforts of the Arab coalition. The Houthis often lure children to join them through promising them salaries and food. Children younger than 18 years of age are frequently kidnapped from schools, markets, off the streets and even from their homes in order to force them to head to the battlefronts.
