The Palestinian Presidency said that the decisions of the Arab and Islamic summits, which were held in Makkah, were a victory for the firm and clear Palestinian position, in spite of all the conspiracies and attempts to liquidate its national cause. This came in a press statement by spokesman of Palestinian Presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh. Rudeineh praised the adoption of the Palestinian position by the Arab and Islamic nations. He said it sent a sharp message to the Washington and Israel. The spokesman said, according to the Saudi Press Agency, "the Palestinian position sent a very clear message to the US administration and Israel that the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace is by implementing the International resolutions and rejecting any deal that does not conform to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem (Al-Quds) as its capital on the 1967 borders." The statement also rejected any deal that does not conform to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in establishing their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. "Everyone must understand that peace is a clear path and it is called the legitimate leadership of the Palestinian people, not through imaginary deals or economic projects that are not worth the ink they write," Abu Rudeina said, The official spokesman of the Palestinian presidency also stressed that the Palestinian leadership did not authorize anyone to speak on its behalf or on behalf of the Palestinian people, and will not accept any conferences or deals aimed at undermining the rights of our people is not negotiable. The spokesman reiterated the Palestinians’ right in Jerusalem and its holy places, indicating they “are not for sale.” “The Palestinian people will win regardless of the magnitude of the challenges and difficulties they will face,” it asserted. The statement concluded by noting that President Mahmoud Abbas courageously affirmed at the Makkah summits the position of the Palestinian, Arab and international consensus and the position of all the free world “in the face of arrogance, bias and the destruction of international legitimacy.” President Abbas announced at the summits that Palestine will not agree to sell Jerusalem nor abandon the national constants. The final communique of the 14th Organization Islamic Conference (OIC) summit in Makkah confirmed that al-Aqsa mosque in east Jerusalem and the Palestinian issue are central to the Muslim community worldwide. The summit confirmed its rejection and condemnation in the strongest terms of any illegal and irresponsible decision in recognizing Jerusalem as the alleged capital of Israel. The Conference stressed its rejection of any proposal, project, plan or deal for a peaceful settlement that does not comply with the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people as recognized by international legitimacy. The summit rejects "any proposal for peace settlement that does not accord or conform with the legitimate, inalienable rights of the Palestinian people." It called on 57 OIC member states to take "appropriate measures" against countries that recognize the holy city as Israels capital. It affirmed the adoption and support of the Abbas’ vision announced in his address to the Security Council on February 20, 2018, during which he called upon international community to engage in sponsoring a multilateral political track aimed at launching a credible peace process under international auspices. Palestinians reject the US deal even before it is announced and say they will not take part in the economic workshop which will be held in Bahrain at the end of this month.
