Madinah deputy governor inaugurates the city’s Eid Al-Fitr celebrations

JEDDAH: Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal, the deputy governor of Madinah, sponsored the opening ceremony of the city’s Eid Al-Fitr activities.  The event was organized by Madinah’s municipality at King Fahd Central Park on behalf of Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman. During the ceremony, Madinah Mayor Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Tuwaijri thanked the region’s governor and his deputy for their support. “We are celebrating a happy Eid thanks to the security and safety provided by God, our wise leadership and our brave soldiers and their sacrifices,” he said, stressing the municipality’s honor in providing activities to the city’s residents and visitors during Eid. A number of artists put together a play that focused on happiness, peace and harmony, while a group of children chanted a song to welcome Madinah’s Eid before the show ended with a fireworks display. The activities will run till the fifth day of Eid to include a three-dimensional display, a presentation about the main cities, popular arts, “Dark Thoughts” performances and robot shows, in addition to various competitions. Visitors made the most of the food courts, restaurants, cafes and food trucks offering a wide range of food. They also enjoyed the open-air cinema, panoramic dome activities, folklore groups, acrobatics and fire and laser shows. Children had their own playground featuring competitions, face paintings and cartoon characters.
