EgyptAir received the third Boeing Dreamliner 787-9 as part of the company’s deal to purchase 45 new aircraft from the latest worldwide models worth $6 billion. The Boeing 787 Dreamliners are powered by Rolls Royce engines to fly over long distances between 14,800 to 15,700 km non-stop and has 20 percent less fuel consumption than its counterparts in commercial aircraft, a company official told DPA. The official, who preferred not to be named, indicated that EgyptAir has now received three aircrafts, which comes in preparation to join the company’s fleet to work on long lines such as Shanghai, Tokyo, New York, Bangkok and Frankfurt. He explained that the aircraft has a passengers’ capacity between 210 to 330, and its fuel efficiency is 20 percent while its accuracy of quantity take-off is 99 percent. Earlier, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Ashraf el-Kholy stated that Egypt has received two B787-9 Dreamliner jets as part of a plan to buy six jets of the same model. “We are making these investments to give our passengers better flying experiences and further demonstrate our dedication to providing a five-star airline service,” Kholy announced. A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner jet has 309 seats divided into 279 seats in the economy class, and 30 Super Diamond seats, which can turn into full-flat beds. The plane can fly for a distance ranging between 14,800 and 15,700 kilometers without transit.
