BEIRUT: Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Walid bin Abdullah Bukhari held a meeting with Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transportation Youssef Fenianos at his office in Beirut on Tuesday. During the meeting, they discussed regional and global developments and issues of mutual interest. At the time of Bukhari’s appointment as the envoy, he said: “We seek to create ambitious global partnerships and build strong international relations that are based on solid fundamentals, and we seek to achieve all this through a sustainable diplomacy based on human values to achieve security and international peace.” Saudi Arabia and Lebanon enjoy cordial relations. The Kingdom earlier this year released $1 billion in funding, pledging to boost Lebanon’s struggling economy. In January, the Kingdom vowed to provide “full assistance” to Lebanon to help its economy. “We are interested to see stability in Lebanon and we will support Lebanon all the way,” Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan told American broadcaster CNBC at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
