Speaker of East Libya’sParliament Aguila Saleh called Monday on UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to take necessary measures and establish an international inquiry committee to investigate into Turkish intervention in Libya. Saleh said this intervention represents a violation for all international conventions and treaties. The parliament denounces Turkish intervention and its support for the armed terrorist militias against the Libyan National Army (LNA), Saleh added. He pointed out that the militias have looted the capital, Tripoli, Libya’s Central Bank, and state institutions in addition to practicing human trafficking and smuggling Libyans’ wealth. LNA Spokesman Ahmed al-Mismari accused Turkey of fighting fiercely to preserve Tripoli and after losing in Cairo and Khartoum it set its sights on Turkey. Turkey has lost Cairo, now they are losing Sudan and tomorrow they will lose Tripoli,” said Mismari in a press conference on Monday, adding that this series, which they have been trying since 1922 to create a “name, place, and a state for has failed at all its stages.” On the other hand, LNA Commander Marshal Khalifa Haftar met Tuesday with a delegation of dignitaries and officials from Shuwairif’s municipality at his headquarters east Benghazi, in al-Rajmeh city. The delegation confirmed “the municipality’s full support for the army leadership and its war on terrorism and the militias,” referring to the forces loyal to the Government of National Accord, headed by Fayez al-Sarraj. The delegation’s members denounced killing wounded soldiers in a hospital in Ghayran city, which has been recently seized by pro-Sarraj forces. In other news, France has denied having any troops in Gharyan during the control of Haftar’s forces of the city. In a tweet, Monday, the French Embassy in Libya said that rumors circulated on social media regarding the presence of French military personnel in the city of Gharyan were baseless.
