The UNs nuclear watchdog is scheduled to hold a special meeting on Irans nuclear program next Wednesday upon Washington’s request as US President Donald Trump renewed his warning to Iran on uranium enrichment. The US mission in Vienna said in a statement that the American Ambassador to International Organizations Jackie Wolcott had requested the special meeting to discuss the International Atomic Energy Agency’s latest report on Iran, issued earlier this week. The announcement was made as Trump told reporters that Iran has to be “very careful.” “We’ll see what happens with Iran,” he said. In its report, the IAEA confirmed that Iran had breached the limit of 300kg for stockpiles of enriched uranium as stipulated under the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The meeting of the IAEAs board of governors would be held "on 10 July at 14:30," Agence France Presse quoted an IAEA spokesman as saying. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that as of Sunday Iran will begin breaking another key limit set in the JCPOA, which restricts the enrichment level of its uranium stockpile to 3.67 percent. US Senators Tom Cotton (R., Ark.), Ted Cruz (R., Texas), and Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) urged Trump to increase pressure on Irans nuclear program in a letter this week. They called for the Trump administration to stop granting civil-nuclear waivers to the regime, according to the letter. Additionally, the senators asked the administration to invoke the snapback mechanism in United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231.
