RIYADH: The Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ausaf Sayeed met with several senior Saudi officials, including Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdul Aziz, acting governor of Riyadh, to discuss issues of mutual interest and enhance bilateral ties. “It was my great pleasure to meet the acting governor of Riyadh at Al-Hakam Palace. We exchanged views and discussed strengthening our relationship,” Sayeed said. “I thanked the acting governor for the constant support we receive from the Riyadh governorate,” he added.  Earlier in the week, Sayeed met Abdulhadi Al-Mansouri, president of the General Authority for Civil Aviation. “During the meeting we discussed various opportunities to enhance our relations in the civil aviation sector,” Sayeed said. The envoy added that Indigo, an Indian airline, is due to start operations from Dammam. “They have already started flying from Jeddah and they plan to expand to Riyadh,” he said. Sayeed described his meeting with Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of the planned megacity NEOM, as “illuminating,” adding: “We discussed opportunities for India in the futuristic $500 billion project.” The Indian government has recently made e-visas available for Saudi nationals, who now can apply online from the comfort of their homes or from anywhere they are staying. There are about 3 million Indians working in the Kingdom.
