The route leading from Jeddah to Makkah, one of the most vital roads in Saudi Arabia, has been named after Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. Governor of the Makkah region Prince Khalid al-Faisal has approved the proposal made by the Secretariat of the Holy Capital to name the route after Crown Prince Mohammed, based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, said an official statement. The decision was made in recognition of the Crown Princes efforts to promote development in the Kingdom under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and in appreciation of his efforts to serve Islam. The Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz routes stretches from the Al-Shimaysi checkpoint to the Grand Mosque for 23 kilometers, passing through Makkah Gate and the intersection of Makkah-Jeddah Highway with the Fourth Ring Road.
