The Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen said on Sunday that it has intercepted and downed a drone launched by the Houthi militias from Yemens Sanaa province towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Coalition Spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki explained that all attempts by the Iran-backed terrorists to launch drones are doomed to fail, saying the coalition takes all operational procedures and best practices of rules of engagement to deal with them. He reiterated that the command of the coalition joint forces continues to implement deterrent measures against the insurgents to destroy their capabilities in line with international humanitarian law. Maliki said that the repeated attempts of the Houthis to target Saudi Arabia is a sign of despair. In another statement, the spokesman said that the militias launched on Saturday two ballistic missiles from Amran Governorate’s Harf Sufyan Directorate. The missiles fell inside Yemeni territory in the Hiran Directorate of Hajja province. Maliki accused the militias of violating international humanitarian law by firing ballistic missiles, which indiscriminately fall on civilian areas in a direct threat to the lives of dozens of civilians.
