TAIF: More than 1,500 men and women have been trained as part of Taif Season to raise the quality of services and enrich the visitor experience on offer. Taif Season, which is one of 11 festivals being held across the Kingdom to promote the country as a global tourist destination, runs until Aug. 31. The workshops aim to provide training and qualification for Saudis from government agencies, as well as workers in the tourism sector such as guides, vendors and craftsmen. Participants registered for the workshops through the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage’s website, and received certification after training was completed. The workshops attracted 790 men and 731 women. Training covered areas such as visitor engagement skills, developing the skills of product vendors, tourism, security and safety in tourism sector facilities, first aid, and basic tour guide skills. Taif Season seeks to contribute to achieving goals within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 reform plan, which aims to improve the quality of life, raise living standards, and create career and investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia.
