The Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq announced that Rusafa Central Criminal Court had issued a life sentence against an ISIS convict of Pakistani origin over terrorism charges. The council said on Thursday that the criminal court issued a life sentence against a terrorist holding the Pakistani nationality after he admitted offering logistic support and helping ISIS to conduct criminal acts via attacking security military forces. The council’s statement revealed that the terrorist confessed being trained by ISIS and working as an administrator in Raqqa, and then in foreign relations. He was assigned to manage communications with Khorasan and while attempting to flee from Syria to Turkey he got arrested at the Iraqi-Syrian border. The statement added that the court found sufficient evidence to convict the defendant, according to article 4 of combating terrorism law no. 13 of 2005. Iraqi courts specialized in terrorism continue to issue various sentences against convicts for charges of belonging to ISIS, whether Iraqis or foreigners. They issued in June execution sentences against 13 French ISIS members after being convicted before the Iraqi judiciary, despite the french authorities objection.
