Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah confirmed on Saturday that his party would inevitably respond to the recent Israeli drone attack on its stronghold in Beirut’s southern suburbs. “Retaliating the Israeli aggression is inevitable,” he said, adding that Hezbollah is not concerned with revealing any data about the timing or the location of such action. “Speculation in this regard is groundless, it’s the mission of field commanders who know exactly what to do, in terms of its time and scale. We intend to keep the enemy confused,” he said. A week ago, an Israeli drone crashed and another exploded shortly after, causing damage to Hezbollah’s media offices in Beirut’s southern suburbs. Shortly after, Nasrallah pledged to retaliate to the attack, which he described as “very, very, dangerous.” In his second speech this week, he said Saturday: “The first retaliation on the Israeli aggression would be initiating our right to down Israeli drones.” Nasrallah added Israel must know that the Lebanese airspace is not open to its drones and daily violations. “The resistance will choose the right time and place to target the Israeli drones in our airspace,” he warned. Commenting on the Israeli claim that the drones in the southern suburbs were targeting a plant for producing precision-guided missiles, he said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu invented this claim as a pretext to attack Lebanon. Nasrallah denied the presence of any such facilities where the drones fell. “Netanyahu’s claim of the existence of precision-guided missile factories was a pretext to justify targeting Lebanon and break the rules of engagement to impose new ones,” he said. Earlier on Saturday, head of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad said that the party “seeks no war with Israel,” but aims to make it respect the rules of engagement drawn up in 2006 after the end of the conflict between the two sides.
