RIYADH: King Salman spoke to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the telephone on Thursday.During the call, the king reiterated Saudi Arabia’s condemnation and rejection of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s threat to annex the Jordan Valley.King Salman said Netanyahu’s announcement was a flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations, and that the Israeli attempt to impose a policy of fait accompli will not erase the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.Abbas expressed his appreciation of King Salman’s interest in the Palestinian cause and the Kingdom’s unwavering support for Palestine and its people.He also praised Saudi Arabia’s call for an emergency OIC foreign ministers’ meeting to discuss Netanyahu’s threat and review attitudes towards Israel with a view to confronting the Israeli announcement.
