Egypt expressed on Tuesday its solidarity with Saudi Arabia following last week’s attacks against Aramco oil facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais. Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry called on the international community to collectively back Saudi Arabia and identify who was responsible for the attacks. He spoke Tuesday in a press conference in Cairo alongside Frances Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian. Shoukry said Cairo also backs efforts to de-escalate the situation. The attack was claimed by the Iran-backed Houthi militias, but the United States dismissed it, pointing fingers at Iran.
