KSRelief Chief Says Saudis Gave Aid to over 84 Countries in Past 23 Years

General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah revealed that Saudi Arabia, since 1996 until now, has provided more than $ 92.4 billion to the world in the form of relief assistance. This aid has been distributed to more than 84 countries worldwide with total impartiality and transparency. KSRelief has implemented more than 1,057 projects in more than 44 countries in cooperation with 168 partners with amounts exceeding $ 3.5 billion, Rabeeah said. Rabeeah’s remarks were made during a visit to Washington, where he met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs in the Near East Bureau Tim Lenderking and a number of other US officials. The two sides stressed the importance of the historical relationship between their countries. They were briefed on information about relief and humanitarian efforts spent by the Kingdom and KSRelief worldwide. With regard to the Kingdoms humanitarian efforts in Yemen, Rabeeah pointed out that the total assistance provided by the Kingdom since May 13, 2015 to date exceeded $14.5 billion, while KSReliefs projects amounted to 368 valued at $2.2 billion covering all parts of the country without exception.
