TUNIS: The Kingdom’s Embassy in Tunisia on Saturday celebrated Saudi National Day by holding a special reception. Saudi ambassador to Tunisia, Mohammed bin Mahmoud Al-Ali, congratulated King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudi people on the occasion. “It is with hearts filled with love, security, reassurance, accomplishment and giving that we congratulate ourselves and our compatriots, at a time where we see the development and modernization of government institutions taking place in line with the implementation of educational, health and developmental projects throughout the Kingdom,” Al-Ali said. The envoy praised the Kingdom’s position and said: “It has become a developed country in record time while preserving its religious values and culture, protecting its Islamic faith and giving the Two Holy Mosques its utmost attention and care to expand them and serve pilgrims. “The Kingdom is part of the G20 that includes the most powerful economies in the world. It also aspires to be a leading model on all levels by counting on its young men and women to achieve the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision, considered the beginning of a new era of development and hard work,” he added. Al-Ali hailed strong and historic Saudi-Tunisian relations citing recent visits between the leaderships of the two countries, including King Salman’s trip to the north African nation in March 2018. Tunisian Minister of Commerce Omar El-Bahi extended his government’s greetings to the Saudi king, crown prince, and people on National Day, and wished the Kingdom prosperity, development and growth on all levels. He praised the continued Saudi backing for Tunisia on all matters and reiterated his country’s support for the Kingdom in the face of recent terrorist attacks by Iran-backed Houthi militias. The reception was attended by senior Tunisian state officials, members of Parliament, ambassadors, and a large number of political, economic, cultural and media figures.
