Some say the wheels of justice grind slow in Italy, but 28 years to find a stolen scooter may seem a bit excessive. Carabinieri police in Ferrara province, south of Venice, recovered a Vespa Piaggio 50 that was pinched from a teenager in 1991, the ANSA news agency reported. According to the German news agency, a 44-year-old businessman, roughly as old as the victim, was charged with receiving stolen goods. Police found the scooter, which had been completely restored, when the man attempted to register the vehicle, which he had bought for his 16-year-old son, according to ANSA. The report said that the investigation had led to the seizure of two motorbike engines believed to be parts of vehicles stolen in Naples in 1995 and 1999.
