Saudi Interior Ministry tech chief briefed on latest smart services for pilgrims at GITEX

JEDDAH: Prince Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Mishari, Saudi Arabia’s assistant interior minister for technology affairs, learned about latest, state-of-the-art assistance being provided to pilgrims when he visited the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s pavilion at GITEX 2019 in Dubai. He was greeted by Abdulfattah Mashat, the deputy minister of Hajj and Umrah, who briefed him on the smart services, technologies and platforms developed by the ministry to improve the quality of services it offers to pilgrims to enrich their experiences, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030. Mashat also met Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, the UAE’s deputy prime minister and minister of interior, and Muhammad Saeed Al-Neyada, the director general of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments. They discussed a range of Hajj and Umrah-related issues. The annual GITEX exhibition describes itself as the biggest tech show in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. The five-day event, held at Dubai World Trade Center, concluded on Thursday.
