Gulf Security Officials Discuss Counter-Terrorism, Cyber Security in Muscat

Gulf Cooperation Council interior ministers in the Omani capital Muscat on Monday discussed strengthening Gulf cooperation on counter-terrorism and cyber security, as well as security developments on the regional and international arenas. This comes as part of the preparatory meeting for the 36th meeting of Gulf interior ministers. The meeting tackled the joint exercise of the Gulf security services (Arab Gulf Security) and the Gulf Security Network project. It also went over the establishment of the Gulf Academy for Security and Strategic Studies and recommendations made by border guards, Gulf coast guards, airport security and the recommendations of the heads of the Gulf police federations. It reviewed recommendations of the general directors of the Gulf security education and training institutions, anti-narcotics agencies, penal and reform institutions, traffic committees, security media and civil defense, and the Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Award for security research.
