The Saudi General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) announced the release of the Executive Rules for organizing the Integrated Logistics Special Zone at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. It includes the "general provisions" of definitions of terms, phrases and illustrative meanings, management, development and supervision of the zone, supervising and coordinating with the relevant authorities and granting the necessary licenses and approvals to customers, service providers, contractors and the like. It also provided the "Licensing Provisions" and "Leasing Provisions", where GACA provides rental units in the zone after the preparation and the development of the infrastructure. The Executive Rules also include “Recruitment and Employment” provisions through the submission of applications to GACA. A royal decree approved the Specialized Integrated Logistics Zone, on October 21, 2018, which will attract major international companies to Saudi Arabia to benefit from the Kingdoms strategic location as an intercontinental hub in line with the Kingdom’s vision 2030. The vision aims to develop the economy and move forward towards the development and marketing of investment opportunities. The Special Integrated Logistics Zone project is part of the logistics platform, which is one of the initiatives of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program as one of the largest programs to achieve Vision 2030.
