DUBAI: Iconic Moroccan-born designer Alber Elbaz has announced that he is returning to the fashion industry with a new brand, AZfashion. The designer has kept a low profile since the end of his 14-year tenure at Lanvin. His latest venture is in partnership with Richemont, the Swiss luxury conglomerate that owns Chloé, Yoox Net-a-Porter group, Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. According to a released statement, AZ Fashion is going to be “an innovative and dynamic startup, meant to turn dreams into reality” and provide “solutions for women of our times.” “His talent and inventiveness, with his sensitivity towards women and their well-being, will be of great value to our group and its maisons,”Richemont chairman, Johann Rupert, said in a statement.
