DUBAI: Tunisian-Egyptian actress Hend Sabri won the Best Actress award at the Carthage Film Festival this week for her role in “Noura’s Dream.” Director Hinde Boujemaa, who also wrote the script, tackles an unusual dilemma of a woman being pulled in three different directions by her husband, lover and three young children, two of them girls. Sabri wrote to her 2.6 million Instagram followers, saying: “Crowning ‘Noura’s Dream’ (with) the Golden Tanit (award) and crowning me as the best actress from my country’s festival, and the oldest festival in Africa, for the second time in 25 years is an indescribable feeling. Thank you to the audience from whom I draw my strength.” It is not the first time the 39-year-old star has won an award for “Noura’s Dream.” She also clinched the Best Actress prize at the El-Gouna Film Festival in September. Sabri also won the Starlight Cinema Award at the Venice Film Festival in September.
