Yemeni Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed arrived in the interim capital Aden on Monday flying from the Saudi capital in implementation of the Riyadh agreement. Upon his arrival, he hailed Saudi Arabia and the Arab coalition’s major efforts in restoring Yemen’s stability. “Aden is the political capital and improvement there will positively impact the country,” he went on to say. He revealed that short-term plans were in place for securing political stability and mid-term ones were set for services. “We are keen on the interest of the people,” he stressed. Yemen government spokesman Rajeh Badi told Asharq Al-Awsat that the PM was accompanied by the ministers of finance, higher education, telecommunications, Awqaf and electricity. The premier will head to the presidential palace in Aden in a bid to return life back to normal and revive state institutions. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz sponsored the signing of the agreement between the legitimate government and Southern Transitional Council (STC) that took place in the Saudi capital last month.
