Saudi KSRelief Launches Campaign to Combat Blindness in Bangladesh, Polio in Pakistan

Saudi Arabias King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) launched a campaign to treat people with eye diseases and provide them with the necessary medical care in a number of countries in need. In Bangladesh, KSReliefs voluntary medical campaign to combat blindness and its cases conducted during the first day up to 6,700 checking cases. These included 2,747 males and 3,953 females, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. It also performed the initial registration of surgical operations, for 977 people, 465 males and 512 females, 19 surgeries, distributing 3,393 drug units and 1,954 spectacles. The campaign provided by the Riyadh-based came according to the agreement signed by the Center with the International Sight Foundation. Earlier, KSRelief launched a project to reduce polio in Pakistan, as a part of its contribution to the livelihood and living projects, in the presence of the Pakistani Minister of Health and a number of officials. According to SPA, under the project, a $100 million worth polio vaccines will be provided to Pakistan, with the aim of protecting children from diseases and reducing the death rate of children exposed to polio, under the age of five, by giving the necessary vaccines to them, and following up the situation of children, in all Pakistani regions.
