Egypts former military chief-of-staff Sami Anan was released from detention on Sunday almost two years after his arrest. Anan is now at home and in good health, several sources, including family members and his office manager, were quoted as saying by news agencies. Anan was arrested in 2018 for running for the presidential elections without permission in breach of military law.
