Author: Sat, 2019-12-28 00:56 Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Suwailem has been the CEO of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SIAP) since July 2018. Al-Suwailem has a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from King Saud University and a doctorate in biotechnology and genetic engineering from the University of Sheffield, where he conducted research in genomics, peritonitis, biosafety, and genetic modification.  He has also lectured at universities, conferences, and seminars locally and internationally. Experience He previously worked at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), starting as natural resources and environment research institute director from 2002 to 2010.  He was head of the Life Science and Environment Section from 2009 to 2010, and has been vice-president for scientific research support since 2010. Al-Suwailem is experienced in intellectual property rights on a local and international scale. He served as an adviser to the World Intellectual Property Organization and UNESCO.
