RIYADH: The Swiss city of Lausanne is set to host meetings of the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) commissions on Sunday, on the sidelines of the Winter Youth Olympic Games taking place on Sunday and Monday. Top sports figures will take part, as well as the Saudi Ambassador to the US Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, who is a member of the board of directors of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, as well as the Women in Sports Commission. Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdul Aziz, who is also a board member of the Saudi committee as well as a member of the Public Affairs and Social Development Through Sport Commission will also be in attendance. The Women in Sport Commission will discuss several subjects including women’s participation in community sport and the commission’s 2019 report, and present the commission’s IOC awards. The Winter Youth Olympic Games include 8 sports: Biathlon, skeleton and bobsleigh, curling, ice hockey, snow scooter, skiing, snowboarding and ski mountaineering. These games constitute a chance for young people to acquire experiences at an early stage.
