Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces discussed on Sunday with President of Indonesia Joko Widodo, bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance and boost them in all domains. They also discussed the latest regional developments and international issues. To promote bilateral cooperation, the two sides signed up to 16 agreements covering various domains, including business, education, health, energy, environment, agriculture, Awqaf, and Islamic affairs. The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi praised the relations between the UAE and Indonesia. "During my visit to your friendly country last July, I saw your keenness to boost ties with the UAE and to develop them on different levels," he noted. The Crown Prince also said that the UAE and Indonesia are role models for managing cultural, religious and ethnic pluralism through tolerance, moderation, coexistence, and acceptance of others. “This is one of the main aspects that unites us and creates important fields for cooperation and coordination between our two countries to reflect the civilized image of Islam and present a true reflection of Muslims on the international scene after it was distorted by the practices of terror forces who claimed to be speaking in the name of Islam,” he stressed. He added: “In light of the tension in the GCC and Middle East regions, the UAE supports peace and stability based on respect and non-interference in internal affairs and the country looks forward to cooperating with your friendly country to support regional peace.” For his part, Widodo expressed his happiness for visiting the UAE and singing the agreements that would further bolster relations between the two countries. He also said he was looking forward to enhancing cooperation into broader horizons.
