Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, held talks with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the Al Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi, where they addressed bilateral ties and ways to boost them. They also discussed recent developments in the Gulf region, the Middle East and Asia, in addition to regional and international issues of mutual concern. Sheikh Mohamed also received on Monday Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, who called to offer his greetings at the end of his tenure. They discussed recent regional developments and GCC joint action at various levels, as well as the Councils role in realizing the interests of its peoples in terms of development, stability and progress. The Crown Prince extended his appreciation to Al Zayani for his efforts and continuous support during his term as the GCC Secretary-General. He also congratulated him on the trust bestowed on him by the Bahraini leadership and wished him success in his new post. On Monday, Sheikh Mohamed also held talks with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen. The two sides reviewed the situations of the Islamic world and the OIC role in promoting the Islamic joint action; dealing with issues of concern to Islamic countries and its peoples, and expressing the civilizational and humanitarian message of the true Islamic religion, in addition to other relevant regional and international issues.
