RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s ambitious aims in health care will be high on the agenda at the 6th International Conference on Radiation Medicine at Alfaisal University in Riyadh. The conference on Feb. 9 is the largest in the Middle East in the field of radiation medicine and will feature leading speakers from worldwide institutions. Health professionals in the Kingdom and Gulf region will discuss radiation’s application in support of effective patient care. Dr. Khaled Al-Kattan, senior member of the conference organizing committee and dean of the College of Medicine at Alfaisal University, said the event has been organized in cooperation with King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center. Dr. Ali Zailae, research adviser at the Ministry of Health, said the forum will focus on developments and challenges in the field at a time when the Kingdom is undertaking ambitious projects in the health sector. The Kingdom is taking several measures to further modernize health care services. According to a national survey conducted late last year, 70 percent of Saudi citizens have a positive outlook toward the Kingdom’s health services.
