Geoffrey Cox could be offered the chance to run a major review into judicial activism as a sop for being sacked in Boris Johnson"s first reshuffle since his election landslide this week. The Attorney General is being tipped for a move out of Government after sources briefed that he was "not a team player". However Tory sources say that to sugar the pill be could be asked to run a new Constitution, Democracy and Rights Commission which will consider whether to rein in the scope of judicial review challenges in courts. The Tory party"s manifesto commits the Government to setting up before December the commission so that it can "come up with proposals to restore trust in our institutions and in how our democracy operates"....
