Isabel Spearman on how to wear a pink dress in a grown-up way

Historically I haven’t worn pink, and especially not in winter – but it’s become one of those colours that transcends seasons. In warmer months I might clash it with brights, but I love pairing it with black for now: it’s modern, work-appropriate and easy to accessorise. This dress from Me + Em felt just right with a structured blazer and shiny black boots for the daytime, and is a great desk-to-dinner option. I"m wearing: Pink is one of the biggest - and trickiest - trends of the season, and dresses in the shade are all over the high street. I was keen to get in on the action but it needed to tick all of my boxes: I wanted something I could toughen up with black accessories, and that was in a statement, bold shade. I was thrilled when I came across this frothy fuchsia frock by Me + Em that nicely fits the bill. Best for... tall types For those with a smaller frame, wearing a printed midi dress can feel overpowering, so tall types pull this look off best. Equally if you aren"t keen on a colour block pink frock, a printed number could be your entry point. Best for... bottom-heavy figures A style that fits the top half and flares out flatters a small waist and nicely skims over thighs and hips.
