Mino Raiola, the agent of Paul Pogba, has escalated his war of words with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he warned that he had been “too nice” to the Manchester United manager. Minutes before the start of United’s match against Chelsea, Raiola wrote a furious social media post, saying that Solskjaer should “inform himself better” about Pogba’s future. Raiola had said earlier this week that Italy is “like a second home” for Pogba, who rejoined United from Juventus for £89 million in 2016, amid increasing speculation that the France midfielder is looking to leave United this summer. In response, Solskjaer insisted that Pogba is desperate to play for United again and that he is “our player and not Mino’s”. Those comments appear to have prompted Raiola to post his angry retort in the moments before kick-off at Stamford Bridge on Monday night. “Paul is not mine and for sure not Solskjaer’s property,” Raiola said. “Paul is Paul Pogba’s. You cannot own a human being already for a long time in the UK or anywhere else. I hope Solskjaer do [sic] not want to suggest Paul is his prisoner. “But before Solskjaer makes comments about things I say he should inform himself better about the content of what has been said. I am a free citizen who can think and express my thoughts. “Until now I was maybe to [sic] nice to him. Solskjaer should just remember things that he said in the summer to Paul. I think Solskjaer may be frustrated for different reasons and now is mixing up some issues. I think that Solskjaer has other things to worry about. At least if I was him I would.” Asked after the game about Raiola’s comments, Solskjaer said: “No comment. People can say whatever they want in the world today on social media and it makes headlines. I don’t really need to say anything. It did not seem to bother any of our players so I am not going to comment on that now.” Pogba has played just eight matches for United this season due to two ankle injuries. The 26-year-old has featured only twice for his club since September and Solskjaer has said the midfielder now faces a challenge to regain his fitness. Earlier this week, Raiola had said it would not be “impossible” to take Pogba out of United this summer as he revealed that he had held talks with Juventus. Pogba has also been of long-term interest to Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.
