RIYADH — Samsung Electronics Saudi Arabia Ltd held last Fb. 4 the second edition of the "Afkarkom Ma3 Galaxy" initiative at AlFaisal University in Riyadh in cooperation with Monshaat (Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority), which aims to provide the future minds with a unique platform and invest in the Saudi young generation. Hosted by media personality Mohannad Abu Obaid, the event was attended by inspiring Saudi speakers including entrepreneurs Faisal AlSaif, Eman AbdelShakoor and Basma AlKhreiji. The second edition focused on the importance of making the right and confident decisions and inspiring the audience to acquire the necessary skills to help overcome anxiety, tension and barriers that might hinder their ability to make important decisions that will shape their future. The event also shed the light on the experiences of entrepreneurs who have previously come up with successful ideas and actions. Having worked in the private sector and as a journalist for Saudi TV for several years, Faisal AlSaif founded his own company and is considered as one of the biggest technology influencers in the Arab world. AlSaif uses a formula where decisions play an important role, and to make these formulas work, there is a need to analyze what is given in the right way to predict a successful outcome. Eman AbdelShakoor founded an accelerator to help others launch and implement their ideas. She focuses on knowing strengths and objectives to make the right decisions which will eventually serve the individual’s objectives. Basma AlKhreiji established several companies following her work in the private sector and made difficult decisions during her career that were necessary to realize her dreams and be successful. The launch of the "Afkarkom Ma3 Galaxy" initiative is in line with the vision of the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman, to invest in young minds, encourage entrepreneurship and drive innovation, with an overall target to have 200 thousand male and female entrepreneurs by 2025, as over 79% of the Kingdom’s population are under the age of 45. However, the concept of entrepreneurship is still new to the young generation in the Kingdom, and it is therefore important to provide them with the necessary support and share with them the experiences of other entrepreneurs who succeeded before them. The initiative reflects Samsung’s appreciation of the great value and huge underlying potential of the young Saudi men and women, as well as its commitment to provide them with the right expertise, knowledge and ambition. It also allows more students and future entrepreneurs to get the necessary support to acquire the entrepreneurial spirit and be proactive in changing the future and the world. — SG
