Former Paralympian targets HS2 drilling rig in latest Extinction Rebellion protest

Extinction Rebellion protesters, including partially sighted Paralympian James Brown, have occupied a newly arrived HS2 drilling rig in West London. The two activists have climbed onto the roof of the vehicle, which includes a 100 foot drill, and unfurled a banner reading "Protect London"s Drinking Water: Stop HS2". They have food and supplies to last for days and say they have no intention of coming down unless removed. Mr Brown, who participated in five Paralympic Games and earned two gold medals, gained notoriety last year by climbing onto the roof of a plane at City Airport in London in October. At a subsequent court hearing he denied the charge of causing a public nuisance and was granted conditional bail that barred him from being within one mile of an airport....
