A Downing Street aide forced out over a eugenics row attended meetings with senior defence officials despite not being vetted, it was claimed on Tuesday, as allies of Boris Johnson demanded answers over his appointment. The Prime Minister has been urged to examine the Government’s vetting procedures after Andrew Sabisky, a so-called “super-forecaster”, dramatically quit his post just days after being hired as a contractor. Downing Street is now under mounting pressure to clarify whether the 27-year-old researcher had passed the necessary security clearance required to handle sensitive Government business. It came as Business minister Kwasi Kwarteng expressed concern over the lack of transparency over the process, warning that it highlighted the need for the Government to “look at vetting processes more closely.”...
