New Delhi authorities in India have been accused of attempting to hide poverty from Donald Trump after building a wall around a slum in Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home town of Ahmedabad. The wall has been constructed ahead of a two-day visit by the US president to the Gujarat state beginning next Monday. Officials in Ahmedabad claim the wall, pictured below, is part of a "beautification drive" ahead of Trump and wife Melania"s stopover, but contractors associated with erecting it said its "true purpose" is to obscure the slum from Mr Trump on his 12-mile ride into the city. Residents of the Sarania Vass slum concurred.
