Pro-government joint forces stationed in Yemen’s western coast succeeded on Tuesday in shooting down an armed Houthi drone flying over Ad Durayhimi district and which was heading to a government-controlled area south of the city of Hodeidah. This is the fifth aircraft shot down within a single week in Ad Durayhimi by the joint forces. Meanwhile, the joint forces landmine defusing team announced on Monday discovering another minefield in a residential area in the eastern suburbs of Hodeidah city. Covering an area of 2 km, this is the largest of three other fields discovered. A landmine defusing expert revealed that the exposed field ran under Al-Masana residential neighborhood next to Albahr Alahmar Mills. The team defused the network of landmines relieving civilians who have been haunted by the horrors of explosives set by Houthis. Al-Masana neighborhood had already witnessed the death of dozens by Houthi-planted mines throughout civilian infrastructure. On another note, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) signed in Riyadh three contracts with a number of hospitals in the Yemeni governorates of Aden and Taiz. The deals include medical coverage for 150 injured Yemenis. KSRelief representative Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Muallem, in a statement published by the Saudi state-owned agency SPA, said that the agreements seek providing medical attention to injured Yemenis and boosting the Yemeni economy. According to Muallem, 100 persons in Taiz and 50 in Aden will benefit from the contracts signed.
