RIYADH — The condition of the Saudi, who tested positive for coronavirus on Monday, is stable and he will remain in quarantine until he recovers, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulaali on Tuesday. At a press conference on the latest developments on coronavirus in the Kingdom, he also confirmed that 70 people, who were in the vicinity or had contact with the coronavirus-infected man, have been located and tested and the results will be released within a few hours. Dr. Al-Abdulaali pledged to continue updating the citizens on any developments, with all transparency. He said the Ministry of Health is vigilant and is monitoring and conducting tests daily and different hospitals and points. He added: “If any case tests positive, we will announce this with all transparency.” Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has confirmed that more than 1,400 isolation rooms in hospitals in the Kingdom are ready. Earlier, they were being used for people with severe symptoms, as the ministry continues to intensify its efforts to prevent the spread of infection. The hospitals of the Ministry of Health currently have 1,449 isolation rooms, which are negatively pressurized and conform to specifications and operate effectively, and are distributed across all hospitals in the governorates and health regions. Work is currently under way to develop 713 air isolation rooms expected to be completed in early 2021. The Ministry of Health provides 870 highly efficient air purifiers, one of the best and finest ready-to-work types that can be used in patient isolation rooms under spray isolation procedures and in places of waiting and examining patients with respiratory symptoms to improve air quality in these locations. The Ministry of Health had on Monday revealed the positive laboratory results confirming the first case of infection with the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) for a Saudi citizen, who had visited Iran before returning via Bahrain. — SPA
