A fight over toilet rolls ended with a man being tasered, Australian police said, as Covid-19 concerns drive panic buying among consumers. Police were called to a store in the New South Wales town of Tamworth, about a four hour-drive north of Sydney, after the man allegedly lashed out and attacked another customer and a worker. Over 50 people have been confirmed to have the virus in Australia so far with the latest cases including an 8-month-old baby in Adelaide. Coronavirus fears have triggered runs on several products, including hand sanitizers and face masks, with images of shoppers stacking trolleys with toilet rolls spreading on social media. A fiery truck crash in Brisbane further fueled concerns after it was revealed it to be carrying loo roll. But supermarkets and manufacturers urged calm, reassuring customers that deliveries were increasing to compensate for the demand. Two major supermarket chains have also limited purchases on toilet paper to help quell the stockpiling. The NT News newspaper made light of the loo roll hysteria, printing several blank pages for their readers to use if worst comes to the worst. In many countries, consumers have been rushing to buy toilet papers fear of supply shortage. The Woolworths chain said it plans to put buying limit on toilet paper "to ensure more customers have access to the products." "The limit will help shore up stock levels as suppliers ramp up local production and deliveries in response to higher than usual demand," a Woolworths statement said. Some products have vanished in Australian supermarkets due to huge turnout. Shelves that contained toilet paper, pasta, and canned food appeared empty in pictures shared on social media. Also, there was a shortage of masks and hand sanitizers due to fears related to the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Australia recorded 41 confirmed cases and one death of a man who was on the Diamond Princess Cruise ship.
