Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh presents credentials to President Mohammad Abdul Hamid

The president praised the historical and fraternal ties between the two countries and expressed his gratitude toward Saudi Arabia for its support to Bangladesh in various fields DHAKA, BANGLADESH: Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Issa bin Youssef Al-Dahilan on Tuesday called on Bangladesh’s President Mohammad Abdul Hamid at his official residence in Dhaka. Al-Dahilan presented his credentials to the head of state and conveyed greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the president. The president praised the historical and fraternal ties between the two countries and expressed his gratitude toward Saudi Arabia for its support to Bangladesh in various fields. Bangladesh is one of the top sourcing countries for employers in Saudi Arabia. Remittances sent by Bangladeshi workers based in the Kingdom are the second-largest source of foreign currency for the Bangladesh government after those earned from exports of ready-made garments. Last year the remittances amounted to $18 billion, 60 percent of which were sent by the Bangladeshi workforce in Saudi Arabia.
