72% of Moroccan Merchants Expect Sales to Stabilize in Q1 2020

The High Commission for Planning in Morocco said that 72% of wholesalers expect a stable volume of total sales during Q1 2020, with 17 percent expecting an increase. More so, 74% of business owners expect stability in the number of workers. The Commission indicated that during the last three months of 2019, sales of the wholesale trade sector in the local market had increased according to 38% of contracting owners and had decreased according to 26%. At the level of inventory of goods, it was considered normal for 68% of wholesalers and less than normal according to 19% of them. As for the selling prices, they were known to be stable according to 55% of contracting owners and to have decreased according to 24% of them. On the other hand, the Commission reported that 58% of the non-financial commercial services contractors expect stability for the total activity during the first quarter of the year 2020, at a time when 22% of them expect an increase. During the last three months of 2019, the production capacity used for non-financial commercial services contracting may have been 78%. The overall activity of this sector may have decreased according to 39% of entrepreneurs and may have increased according to 38% of them.
