NEW YORK — Bob Dylan is back with new a song. The 78-year-old singer-songwriter released "Murder Most Foul," his first new original song in nearly eight years, on Thursday. The song is a 17-minute rumination on the 1960s and the assassination of former US President John. F. Kennedy. "They blew out the brains of the king / Thousands were watching at home and saw the whole thing," he sings in the opening minutes of Murder Most Foul. "The day that they killed him, someone said to me, "Son, the age of the Antichrist has just only begun," Dylan sings. "The soul of a nation"s been torn away, and it"s beginning to go into a slow decay." Dylan thanked his fans for their support in a tweet. "Greetings to my fans and followers with gratitude for all your support and loyalty over the years," said the Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winner. The track arrived unannounced at midnight, with Dylan explaining it had been "recorded a while back". "This is an unreleased song we recorded a while back that you might find interesting. Stay safe, stay observant, and may God be with you," he added in his tweet. — Agencies
