RIYADH — The Minister of Education Dr. Hamad Bin Muhammad Al-Asheikh has issued a decision that stipulates continuing the disbursement of financial allocations, medical insurance, and treatment allowance to male and female scholarship students and their dependents. The minister has issued this decision, which included a number of exceptional measures, to address the conditions of male and female Saudi scholarship students and their dependents abroad due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Sunday. These measures come in light of the prudent leadership’s concern for all Saudi scholarship students and their dependents in all countries of the world. They are meant to protect their safety so that they can continue their education and return to their nation armed with the latest knowledge and know-how. The decision of continuing disbursement of financial allocations will include scholarship students who have been suspended from disbursement, or whose scholarships have ended and they are still in the country of scholarship. The decision includes not suspending the disbursement to male and female scholarship students and their dependents, whatever the reason for suspension might be, and the disbursement of a financial allowance for a month to those who have left their residences, graduated and are still in the country of scholarship and are unable to return to the Kingdom, and to students suspended from disbursement. The decision also stipulates that the implementation of these measures shall not exceed three months during the emergency period.
