RIYADH — Arab coalition forces destroyed a number of military targets of the terrorist Houthi militia in Yemen in a successful operation, according to Col. Turki Al-Maliki, spokesman of the Coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen. The targets that were destroyed included storage, assembly and installation sites of ballistic missiles and UAVs, hideouts of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) experts and weapons depots, dealing a blow to advanced capabilities of the Houthi militia. The targeted military installations were spread over several terrorist militia-controlled governorates, including Hodeida, which has been turned into a missile storage location and new weapons depots, further enhancing the combat capabilities of the Houthi militants, which is in violation of the Hodeida cease-fire and the (Stockholm) Agreement, he said. Houthi militants in Yemen are trying to exploit the world’s preoccupation with tackling the coronavirus pandemic, Al-Maliki said while reiterating that the Joint Forces Command will continue to carry out all the necessary and rigorous measures to handle such threats and violations in a manner that guarantees the safety of citizens and expatriates living in the Kingdom. “In this time of international unity and solidarity to combat the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Iranian regime continues its support to its terrorist proxy in Yemen and sponsoring hostile and terrorist acts. The Iranian regime is mobilizing all its financial, human and logistic powers to support the terrorist militia to realize its goals and expansionist ambitions at a time when the Iranian people are suffering extremely from the pandemic, which is causing heavy casualties,” he said. Al-Maliki had announced earlier on Sunday that two ballistic missiles were launched from Yemen at 11:23 p.m. local time on Saturday toward the cities of Riyadh and Jazan, and that there were no deaths or injuries reported as a result of the attack.
