RIYADH — The Council of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) praised the Royal Orders and Directives issued by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and the efforts made by the State to limit the spread of the new Coronavirus (Covid-19). The Council of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) lauded the Kingdom’s leadership during its eighth session of the fourth year held via a virtual network. HRC President Dr. Awwad Bin Saleh Al-Awwad headed the meeting. The Council praised the efforts of the leadership as it stemmed out of its keenness to protect the health of citizens both at home and abroad and of residents staying in its territories. Meanwhile, Dr. Awwad expressed his appreciation that these orders and decisions observed human rights and emphasized the preservation of human dignity. The Council also praised the Crown Prince’s crisis management of the Corona epidemic and the successes achieved by the Kingdom in this respect under his leadership, as well as the high degree of transparency used in dealing with this epidemic. Such measures had a significant role in combating this epidemic and limiting its spread. In this meeting, the Council discussed a number of topics on its agenda, reviewed the report of the Committee on Criminal Justice Affairs and the report of the Committee on the Family, Women and Children, and took a number of measures in this regard. — SG
