In a bid to protect citizens and residents, the port will also be doubling its operations and marine services in stations and docks under the precautionary measures taken by the Kingdom. The port’s facilities have been fully equipped to handle and serve refrigerated containers including food and medicines. In cooperation with more than 17 government agencies, importers will be able to benefit from the clearance service around the clock. The port will extend the exemption period for storage fees at the port from five to ten days, to support exporters and importers alike, and ensure smooth logistic supplies to and from the Kingdom. The port also stressed its compliance with the precautionary measures and the adoption of electronic operations as much as possible, to reduce direct contact, while maintaining a high level of efficient goods clearance. King Abdullah Port, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, took a series of immediate precautionary measures to ensure the safety and health of all its employees. The measures include sending all the required information to the ministry by the maritime agents within 24 hours before the arrival of the ship to ensure necessary medical checkups and preventive measures are carried out.Main category: Saudi ArabiaTags: Saudi ArabiaCoronavirusKing Abdullah Port Saudi bodies unite to repatriate citizens as Kingdom’s coronavirus death toll hits 38King Abdullah Port winds up a record-breaking 2019
