Lebanon registered on Saturday 10 new coronavirus cases, taking the country’s tally to 619. The health ministry said that no new casualties have been reported. Lebanon has registered 20 deaths from the disease and carried out 515 tests in the past 24 hours. The northern town of Bcharre was meanwhile, was put in lockdown after several virus infections were reported there. The military and security forces have deployed patrols throughout the country to enforce the authorities’ general health mobilization, in place until April 26. People are allowed to leave their homes only to buy food or medicine, and most businesses have closed. The only airport is also shut, except for a few flights returning expatriates stranded abroad. An overnight curfew largely bans people from going outside between 7 pm and 5 am. Sudan, meanwhile, reported two more virus cases, raising its total to 17. The new patients were receiving necessary treatment at an isolation center, said the health ministry. Sudan has reported one fatality from the virus and has 238 suspected cases that are in isolation.
